At least we think they're oddballs. We recent received a donation of motorcars, two of which MTM-200s built by Modern Track Machinery. If I recall, they're ex-CN. We think they're 70's vintage and we have an unsubstantiated rumor that only four were made. One now runs, the other is currently a parts donor but can run with the addition of an engine. The builders plates indicate that these are the first and fourth built. They are full hydrostatic drive powered by a 4 cylinder Kubota diesel - no clutch, no gear shift, no brake pedal. Just a throttle and joy stick for forward and reverse. At about 3,800 lbs each, you don't want to derail them. We have an inquiry sent to Geismar, the successor to MTM, for any info they may still have. If anyone knows anything more about them, we'd like to hear it.
