Would anyone have knowledge to share on the older EMD D32 dc main generators used on locomotives and also used on DC/DC drilling rigs. Information on maximum continuous electrical output or a idea on which locomotives this may have been used would be appreciated. I have a couple of the EMD MI publications but none of them state the electrical output dc voltage or dc amps continuous, and the units never have electrical data plates installed on the stator frames. The only plates ever installed are model and serial numbers. Models are D32-K, and D32-E.

From a spec sheet on the SW-1500 locomotive. The main generator on the locomotive is a Model D32 manufactured by EMD. The generator is directly connected to the diesel engine by a flexible coupling. The engine rotates the generator to develop a rated 600 vdc output voltage at 1700 amp. |

Giving this topic a bump. Does anyone have a complete MI 3302 which gives information about a D32E generator? |
