Hi All

Mr Springer the photographer, was a great supporter of many organizations and a very kind and intelligent person . His personal passenger car, the Vista Canyon, is now apart of the collection of the Arizona Railroad Museum at Chandler Arizona. If memory serves me they were moving the locomotive for the movie Streets of Laredo.

Yes, this was for the TV mini-series, "Streets of Laredo" which was a sequel to Lonesome Dove. I met Blair Lavelle from TSRR in Alpine who accompanied the locomotive and short train. They had the cast party on the train after the completion of production. I was going to meet the train at Plata to get some photos but the train turned back short and I only saw some smoke in the distance. There is a studio built train station at Tinaja were a majority of the filming occurred. It is still visible in aerials. Unfortunately, the original speeder shed at Plata seems to have collapsed upon itself since I was out there last.
