Quite by accident, in Google Maps I happened upon this collection of vintage diesels in Connecticut, north of Hartford. Location is Scantic, CT, mailing address is Broad Brook, CT.

Looks like some Alco, some EMD, some critters. Former New Haven line, not sure who owns it now. Did not see anything having been posted here about it previously.

(follow up, fixed the link to streetview.)

That's the "yard" location of Central New England Railway (CNZR), a shortline operator leasing track from Connecticut Dept of Transportation. There are two separate lines operated by CNZR, one is Hartford to Broad Brook (west of the Connecticut River); the other is a segment of the old NYNH&H Armory Branch, from East Hartford to the Massachusetts border (east of the Conn River).

CNZR has at least three Alco RS-1s in various states of inoperation, at least two GE 25-ton locos, two EMD GP9/GP20 units (operational for their freight services), another GP9 (ex-NH, ex-SEMTA/Michigan) heavily stripped of copper, and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

There's also a huge amount of track machinery, operable and not, at Broad Brook. The railroad's owner has had a track maintenance and construction business for the last 40+ years.

Most recently i believe they purchased (or at least had on property) one of the small MNCR brookville switchers.
