The Pogue Bridge was the focus of attention this morning as contractors reclaim the right-of-way from thick cover, once again revealing the impressive span over Aughwick Creek. This is to assist in preventative maintenance to stabilize the bridge.

I wonder what kind of engineering study and work that bridge will need before trains can roll across it?
We so badly needed good news like this. I wouldn't have bet against the EBT ever running again, a year or two ago from what I had seen.
Now, the future looks brighter than anyone could have imagined!

Exactly, EBT is the miracle railroad of 2020 and I will definitely be making a trip to see it once steam returns in a few years. Always great to watch their progress.

I just hope the piers (which have been the topic of discussion regarding the bridge in past years) are in solid condition.

I’ve heard from sources close to the EBT that the condition of the disused bridges on the line are good, including the infamous Pogue Bridge (likely to the remote locations of the majority of said bridges). But I haven’t heard specifics.

My sources tell me that all roadway structures are getting best engineering practices, full-court press. Roadway foaming at its best ...

I can report that all the bridges have been professionally inspected and with the exception of two very small ones have been found to be in very good condition including the Pogue bridge shown in these photos. It will need its support piers cement pointed up, and a good sandblast and paint job. Other than that it's good to go.

I'm confident that they will be making swift progress reopening the railroad south of Orbisonia all the way to the top of the 3% climb on the Joller branch.

I have seen a photo of one of their bridges, a rather sturdy, long bridge but with the timbers so far gone that the rails are looping down around ten feet or so, does anyone know which bridge I am talking about?
