Now this ought to give you guys something to discuss besides politics. LOL Do you think this particular incident had anything to do with a big hunk of the bridge falling into the river about twenty years later?...

No.

The subsequent investigations blamed the August 1997 collapse on water build-up behind the spandrel walls due to improperly maintained drainage.

Poor drainage does tend to aggravate retaining wall splay, Alexander.

Same general area on the bridge, slightly over a quarter-mile from the Marysville side...
