Here is a link to a free 100 foot turntable in the St Louis area on Trainorders. I don't know anything about it other then seeing the post. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/ ... sg-5186614 |

I remember seeing it when riding the metrolink Years ago. I don’t believe the museum of transportation has a turntable... what about Monticello? |

Have any organizations built new turntable bridges? Or would it be very cost-prohibitive vs finding an old one ? |

Hi guys! Can anyone connect with me with who to contact about this turntable? I am not a member of trainorders.com so I can't contact the fellow listed on there. Much appreciated! |

The museum has two turntables, a 100 foot one from Frisco's Lindenwood yard and a 60 foot one from the Marylnd & Pennsylvania. No more needed there. |

Monticello is taking the ex-RI turntable from near the newer RI station in Peoria as the city is turning the park it occupies into a housing complex. Somewhere I have a photo of 13 year old me on it when it was in use in 1979. |

I can't recall off the top of my head the length, but Monticello already has moved their former RI, Peoria 90/100' turntable to MRM and has begun preparing the site for its installation. Exprail |

Kelly Lynch (Fort Wayne) has expressed interest in the Wabash table in St Louis although no formal announcement has been made as yet. Turntable was recently cleared of overgrowth. I did see a remark that there was a small crack found in the table bridge, but I don't know if that is accurate or a serious defect. The nearby signal tower/station building that had been standing next to the grain elevator has been torn down. The surrounding areas have also been extensively redeveloped as of late with a new Ikea built and the former foundry turned into an entertainment complex with the rail spur pulled up. |

Did anything ever become of this? |

Yes. A deal has been struck and the turntable and the site have been cleaned up, table partially disassembled, and prepped for removal. There are multiple parties involved (including Metrolink) with the logistics, messaging, and timing, so details will be announced at a later date. There was no damage or defect found that would preclude a return to service. |

Any info on who built it, when, and when installed would be appreciated. Was it alwsys in this location or moved from elsewhere? |
