We have been busy working on our railroad this past year. We have about .4 miles of two foot gauge track down. We are awaiting final approval for a highway crossing and have a big track program scheduled for 2021. We had to re-pour a bridge abutment for that project! Also acquired a steam engine to fool around with. It is a 1936 Henschel # 23036 12 ton built in Germany for industrial giant Grun and Bilfinger- I think they made tiger tanks!! Here is a little video of our train returning to the train shed. Is this the same Richfield Springs line referred to in "Clear the Tracks" by Joseph Bromley? There was a two stall engine house at "the Springs" that was used to do light servicing the Camelback locomotive assigned to the milk train, according to the author, who was the regular engineer on that run during the time prior to the turn of the Twentieth Century. |

Yes, this is the Branch described in that book. It had several major capital improvements done to it by the Lackawanna so I guess it was pretty busy back in the day. Two new stations were built in 1901 at East Winfield and Chepachet. They are seen in the photograph nearing completion of the new Chepachet (Cedarville) station.
