Anyone know the dimensions of an AAR roller bearing switcher truck? Trying to get a shipping quote.

Are you looking at one from an Alco or EMD?

Roller bearing or friction?

According to one of my Alco manuals:

Width 108 5/8 inches

Length 177 3/4 inches

Weight 34,000 pounds

This is for a truck with friction bearing boxes.

I do not have a width for the trucks if converted to roller bearings.

If the trucks have been converted to roller bearings and they have the Timken style roller adapters or the regular boxes have been converted and the front of the box has been cut/machined off, then they will not be "Over width" on a semi trailer.

An Alco truck with GE 752 traction motors or an EMD truck could weigh a little more, depending on the traction motors.

Maximum width allowed on a trailer is 8 1/2 feet.
