viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43498 There is a post almost everyday about this car on the ACL/SAL closed facebook page, among other things they have found 12 pre-war Budd seats out of an ex-Santa Fe car. But the city wants it moved soon so the clock is ticking. The preservation group is running a fundraiser to benefit moving this car utilizing private car Hollywood Beach, another surviving SAL obs, and they have managed to sell all but three seats at $500 a pop I believe, for a ride between St. Louis and Kansas City, behind Amtrak (how they got Amtrak to do that I don't know). https://www.eventbrite.com/e/silver-met ... kdyLBvn0R0 Sometimes if a group says that they need gofundme money to keep a car from being scrapped it is already too late, but not in this case apparently. |
