The East Broad Top Railroad's "Winter Spectacular" was an annual railfan outing in south-central Pennsylvania from 1966 to 1981. It started with the 1927 built gas-electric car M-1 in 1966, and in the latter years involved all four of the railroad’s operable steam locomotives. The one-day event was revived on February 20th of this year, featuring the M-1 with Caboose 28 in tow operating from Orbisonia Station north to McMullen’s Summit. The M-3 ran as well, shuttling passengers on a trip around the yard. The trolley museum operated five different trollies throughout the day from Meadow Street Platform the full length of their line to Blacklog Narrows. Follow the link below to my gallery of images. Watching it all come back to life is a great pleasure! Enjoy, Matthew https://www.losttracksoftime.com/p47324941 |

Great photos, thanks for sharing. I'm confident that starting with next years Feb. event steam will be a big part of the event. You're so right that witnessing this project move forward will be one of the highlights of this decade. Thanks again to Bennett Levin, Wick Moorman and Henry Posner and the long term efforts of the EBT Friends organization for taking the torch from the Kovalchik family and carrying it into the future.
