Post subject: | More insurance woes? |
In the other insurance increases quoted below, I ask: What is the situation with special-event insurance, for something such as the New River Train? Two areas have recently inquired of me about the possibility of operating special excursions in 2003. Both have tentative access to a pool of operable cars; one wants to operate over a slightly-friendly regional RR and another over a very quiet branch of Norfolk Southern. I told both groups that insurance, or the lack of its availability, would be the killer of any such proposition. How badly are they dreaming? lner4472@bcpl.net |

Sandy, That's the only way New River Train continues to operate and have insurance--it's a special operated under Amtrak's authority, insurance, etc. with all equipment either Amtrak coaches or Amtrak-certified private varnish. Jim http://nctrans.org Wrinnbo@aol.com |
