Post subject:  Wither Northern Maine Junction?

With all the talk about roundhouses being destroyed, allow me to point out that the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad emptied and abandoned the roundhouse at Northern Maine Junction (Hermon, Maine, just outside of Bangor). This was a complete Diesel shop, complete with turntable, pit, and hoist. Today she sits with 6 wrecked GP9's outside, doors open to the elements, and a few pieces of small track equipment inside. I have no idea of the building's fate as of this date. The BAR has officially gone out of business, being replaced by a newer firm. Instead of seeing the old shops torn down, it would be a heck of a place for an entrepeneur to rebuild locos in the east! Doyle, you could start an eastern franchise!
