Does anyone here remember the home-made park railway around the home of the Peck family in Saratoga, California? They passed away about a decade ago, and I imagine the house has been completely re-developed. Mr. Peck had a home-made CP Huntington train with wooden drivers and a ride-on tractor transmission, and I believe the wheels and rails came from local industrial railways at fruit processing plants. |

Willys died several years ago. His wife Betty is in a nearby nursing home. Their children, Bill and Annie, have spent nearly the past year clearing the property of all their parent’s various whimsical interests with some going to local museums. I advised them on anything railroad related. The house, with Willys’ beloved homebuilt CP Huntington, went on the market last month. So “yes” the locomotive, flatcar and track encircling the house are still there...for now. |
