Join us on Saturday, the 19th of June, for a very special excursion and dinner: Railway Restoration Project 113 will run our locomotive, Central of New Jersey 0-6-0 #113, from Minersville to Port Clinton and return, pulling coaches and an extra-fare open gondola! The locomotive will face south on the way south and north on the way north, with the gon right behind the tender in both directions. On return to Minersville we will host our full-menu all-inclusive pig roast at the station.

PROCEEDS FROM THIS EXCURSION BENEFIT READING & NORTHERN ENGINEER CHRIS BOST, a regular at the throttle of #113, as he fights chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIPD), a nerve disease. Chris has treatments under way, and his positive attitude serves as a model for all of us.

Schedule:
Depart Minersville 12:00 noon
Arrive Port Clinton: 1:10 p.m.; the engine will get serviced and turned on the turntable for the run north
Depart Port Clinton: 2:00 p.m.
Arrive Minersville between 3:15 and 3:30 (depending on a water stop at Schuylkill Haven)
Pig roast to follow arrival.

Fares:
Train ride and pig roast (coach seat): $30.
Train ride and pig roast (gondola, standing): $40. SECOND GON ADDED, MAY 10th: If you already have a coach seat and want to upgrade to the gon you may -- but FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED, whether you have a ticket already or not.
Train ride only (coach): $20.

AS OF MOTHERS DAY, WE HAVE TWO COACHES FILLED.

For those planning to ride the gon, bring your own eye protection (and a hat if you don't want cinders in your hair!).

THANK YOU TO OUR FRIENDS AT THE READING & NORTHERN FOR THEIR GENEROUS SUPPORT OF THIS SPECIAL TRIP.

Thanks

You certainly may make donations that way, whether or not you buy a ticket. Very much appreciated!

Chris is a great guy and staunch steam supporter. I hope all who can will support this effort as Chris is fighting the good fight and with our help will be back running steam soon.

He will be in my prayers. Ross Rowland

Hi All,

In addition to benefiting Chris, this trip will also have added significance as we'll be bringing our old friend Bob Carlson for his last ride on a steam locomotive and one final trip thru the boiler on the locomotive he loved.

Not sure the exact plans for any formal ceremony but anyone looking to participate feel free to send me a private message or reach out to the 113 group.
