Holiday trains are not limited to North America. On Germany's longest preserved railway, the Nassau Tourist Railway, Santa Claus trains are almost sold out for this year. Steam power in the form of former DR 50-3576 is seen awaiting Santa to board the train at the station of Eiserne Hand on the 26 kilometer portion of the line operated between Wiesbaden Dotzheim and Nassau (Hohenstein).

Last Weekend I Went On The Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Steam Railroad's Santa Clause Special. The Ride Was Powered By A Porter 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive. In The Consist You Could Find 1 Reading Combine And 3 Coaches, And 1 Lackawanna Coach. Santa Clause and His Elves Visted The Children, And Frosty The Snowman Was At The Station! The Snow On The Ground Could Have Fooled Any Child Into Thinking They Were At The North Pole! The Week Was Enjoied By All Who Attended!

Actually, it's St. Nicholas, whose Feast Day is December 6. The train in German is "Nikolauszug." The English translation (click the US flag) is Santa Claus Train.

Translation is in US English probably because US military bases are nearby.
