Overall the car seems have its distinctive NYC trucks, truss rods, and brake rigging largely intact. The end doors used by the railroad remain in place and no additional openings have been added. Not bad for a car out of railroad service for about 50 years or so.

Based on other photos on-line, the plywood sheathing seems to be a recent addition - within the past 10 years or so.
