Locomotive follows Climax practice with a few changes by the Mountain State Railroad and Logging Historical Assn. and a few changes made by the Durbin & Greenbriar Valley R.R. (Shay stack). Locomotive contains about 10,400 individual parts.
Drawings prepared from original Climax Mfg. Co. drawings provided by John D. Lewis, and repetitive, careful and extensive measurements of the parts of 1551 at Cass while the author was working on the restoration, and historical research.
