Lets pour one out for our homies.

I never had a chance to ride, but a friend spent a good amount of time volunteering there when he was younger and only had great things to say about it.

That was one of the US tourist operations I only found out about on this side of the Atlantic because some photos or a report had appeared in Railpace Magazine which I subscribe to.
I fitted in a visit there in 2011, coupling it with a steelworks industrial rail operation at Natrona, which had also recently been featured in the magazine.
It was an interesting run on their train, particularly when it got to Bagdad and the loco detatched to collect some gondolas, our train operatimg as a "mixed" thereafter! They certainly seemed a freindly bunch of people operating the train that day.

I knew they had halted the tourist trains a few years back, but it's a shame to see it close completely.

Too bad. My kids live nearby and rode it a couple of years ago. They really enjoyed it and sent me a post card from there.

That was a nice operation. I had the chance to visit it twice, once as part of a photo charter.

I'm sure Alan/Everett Railroad will announce in good time what equipment they have purchased.

The Everett Railroad purchased the SW-900 #126, caboose #5 (ex-P&LE converted to excursion use), the KJRR hi-rail truck, and coach 1154 (ex-CNJ). I expect the coach will go on to another home but we bought it just to make sure it didn't get sold for scrap.

I'm aware that other parties are in discussion about some of the equipment but I will leave it to those involved to comment if or when they deem it appropriate.

That's all great to hear.

A friend of mine with an emotional attachment to the KJRR was quite relieved to hear that 126 is going to a good home.

Thanks for sharing Alan. That 126 is a neat unit, and I look forward to seeing it in use on your railroad.
