After a looooonnngggg wait . . . Illinois Central 201 (1880 Rogers 2-4-4RT) was loaded on a truck on December 11th, and is scheduled to arrive at Union on the 12th. Given a certain IC engineer's work in Chicago suburban service during the Columbian Exposition in 1893, this should add a bit to our scheduled "Casey Jones Day" in May! Kevinmccabe@avenew.com |

> When did the 201 last operate? The 1948-49 > Chicago RR Fair? That appears to be the lask "known" date, though there have been rumors that it was fired up on occassion at IC's Homewood Yard after that. The loco reached Beloit, WI last night (12th), and should be unloaded at IRM this AM (13th). I'm trying to ignore that it is Friday the 13th, since moving equipment makes me nervous enough as it is! kevinmccabe@avenew.com |
