Post subject: | Oregon: Santiam Excursion Trains to Add a Steam Locomotive |
On July 7, 2021, Santiam Excursion Trains announced via email plans, beginning fall, 2021, to include a serviceable Baldwin 2-6-2 locomotive to power their tourist trains. Although not stated in the Santiam Excursion Trains press release, this locomotive is almost certainly Santa Maria Valley 205:
To the best of my knowledge, this locomotive is privately owned and has, for many years, been under repair at Independence, Oregon. Santiam Excursion Trains: https://santiamexcursiontrains.com/ |

This is great news! Thanks for the heads up. Seems logical - if so, here is a bunch of photos of the locomotive in question: Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad https://www.friends-smvrr.org/history-2 ... ation.html /Mitch |
