Regarding the purchase of ex-C&O 1309 from the B&O Railroad Museum, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad (WMSR) have renegotiated payment terms. When purchasing this locomotive, WMSR agreed to pay USD $100,000.00. USD $50,000.00 was paid initially, with the remaining $50,000.00 due in 2021. The final payment was recently renegotiated to be five (5) payments of $10,000.00 each to be paid over the next five years.

The sales contract includes terms that WMSR 1309 may not be transferred anytime in the future into private hands. WMSR hopes to have WMSR 1309 in service by fall, 2021.

Is 1309 earning it’s keep yet or are they still assembling and/or working out bugs? I haven’t heard much about it lately.
