I went up to the federal courthouse here in eastern Kentucky a few days ago and found some new filings in the case. I talked to my lawyer neighbor to have her help me interpret them. I've copied them in case you want to see them.

1. $3,825.00 of the judgment was assigned to Mr. Rimmash personally, and not his company. He apparently paid that part in late July, and the lawyers for Stearns filed a "Satisfaction of Judgment." releasing him from it. It also states that his company, Wasatch Railroad Contractors hasn't paid their portion of the judgment, which is $730,284.60.

2. Lawyers for Stearns asked some written questions of Wasatch called interrogatories(?). From those answers it appears Wasatch has three federal contracts that haven't been fully paid on. The lawyers for Stearns want more information and are seeking a court order.

It appears that Mr. Rimmash was hospitalized with COVID back in early July, as one of the documents says it. I hope he is doing better. It's been a nasty 18 months, I've lost so many friends. Get the shot, wear a mask, care about your neighbors, listen to the health experts!

Perhaps the title of this new thread should be:

Nothing of Consequence is Happening! Film at 11!

I certainly hope John Rimmasch makes a swift and complete recovery. Another reminder to everyone to get the shot asap.

I have been engaged with the CEO of one of the principal BOD members involved in the K&T saga on a project completely separate from the K&T matter and In a conversation several months back he said that they " intended to use every available legal tool to collect our Judgement against Rimmasch and Wasatch RR Contractors, however long that takes ".

As a follow up to an earlier thread the NPS finally got back to me about the $ 800,000 ghost coach( that went to Wasatch years ago for a rebuild and never came back ) and all they will say is that the matter " is in dispute". Whatever that means. Bottom line is that the NPS invested North of $ 800,000 yes you read that right $ 800 grand to have a plain old CNJ day coach restored, shipped it by truck to Wasatch's shop and there it sits to this day unfinished. A mystery for sure.

I have not heard any follow ups regarding the fatal tank car accident at Wasatch's shop which killed two workers. I did read that the widow of one of the workers had set up a Go Fund Me page to help pay funeral expenses.
