BNSF 1200-1201 (MK-1200 LNG) run on Liquified Natural Gas and are
being used in Los Angeles on the BNSF-owned Los Angeles Junction
Railway.
When were they built?
Were they rebuilds or new?
Builders numbers?
Are they still in service?
Do they still use LNG?

Anybody have particulars? Has any article been published? If so,
where?

Green Goat uses small diesel to drive generator to keep huge batteries charged. Traction motors draw needed power from the batteries. Similar to Toyota and Honda hybrid cars.
There are two LNG-powered locos running in LA.
I want to find out more about them.

Hank:

I don't know too much but I took a tour of the M-K plant in Boise when these were being built. I know the cabs were newly fabricated but I am unsure whether the entire platform and running gear were new. As far as a time frame, I think this was about spring of 1993. Others likely will know more.
