Could that be a possible mate for the 2816. Think about it a classic F3 to use behind her as protection power. Overhaul it to say a GP 38 inside like the BN did with their F's and bingo self contained protection power for the steam program. |

If they need a protection unit an old VIA F40 would be a better bet, or one of the many, many F9s. There aren't that many F3s left with their original innards, 502 would be better preserved. |

Yeah, a carefully preserved and functional F3A is a treasure in its own right. Keeping it as a Bangor & Aroostook locomotive enhances it's historic importance. |
