Is anybody able to stop by the Geigertown Central and check out their Industrial Brownhoist crane? It looks to have its builder's plates so what I really want is the builder's number. It has US Navy lettering but also has "The Road of Anthracite" on it. Was this a Delaware, Lackawanna & Western crane? Love a good mystery. |

Reading through the text in the link provided, I see this!!!!!. "Shirley's career was cut short. On October 4, 1993, Shirey was attempting to right a derailed train in Schuylkill County2, when the 260-ton railroad crane boom he was operating fell, crushing its cab. He left behind parents, grandparents, a brother, a wife, and a daughter." |
