Well looks like we’ve gotten a look at what the Sugar Express has for a paint scheme. Here’s the link. https://railfan.com/u-s-sugar-reveals-n ... ar-scheme/ |

Its nice to see a unique take on a fallen flag scheme. The photos may make it look like Union Pacific, but the scheme is supposed to reflect the "City of Miami" before the ICRR adopted the Orange 'n Brown scheme. The Yellow & Green will be nice to see fly once more! |

I'm surprised they picked a scheme so close to UP's. At least the gray roofs will help with keeping the cars cool. |

I don’t see it as a scheme that’s truly “close” to UP’s. I feel that the “yellow” they’re using is a lot more orange than it is yellow. Sure it’s a similar scheme but the fact that it’s a fairly different color does enough to change it for me. |

That car is one of the URHS-owned cars IP leased and then abandoned in Mississippi, which URHS had to sell because they can't afford to ship them back to New Jersey. I wonder what happened to the two LV-painted ex-C&NW F7s that were with them. |

We’ll, I should know better than to comment on colors in an image of unknown quality, but the yellow in this image kinda looks like it could be chrome yellow - a medium yellow with a touch of red, but without being orange. Think school bus, a classic chrome yellow. If it is, it’s an interesting choice; high visibility without being jarring. It would grow on me. |

For those reading the chat. Yes, it does look like Union Pacific, but it is NOT Union Pacific Yellow & Gray. The colors are City of Miami Yellow and Green. The Facebook photos showcase the colors well, but the morning light makes the green roof look gray. A companion in another facebook group confirmed the roofs are green, not gray. |

The original paint scheme on UP's City... streamliners was Armour Yellow and Leaf Brown. I was surprised to find the UP City Ticket Office in Denver remained in the yellow and brown colors. According to utahrails.net the Harbor Mist Gray arrived with the 1940 E-6 units. Phil Mulligan |

To me, this looks like one of the bright reds, a medium to dark yellow, and a gray-green... https://brasstrains.com/Classic/Product ... P-AMAZING- Here, the yellow looks lighter than Diamond but not quite Lemon, perhaps something around 54701 or 6808... https://i.pinimg.com/originals/1d/e3/19 ... e211d6.jpg |

A view of the Lake Placid Limited before we boarded: https://www.facebook.com/57003487/video ... 547601735/ It was an amazing trip, and worth every penny it cost to make the trip, even if the entire trip cost me a months salary. I'll be back to do it again next time too! |
