The Carbonear, Newfoundland town council has rescinded a motion to scrap a rusting, rare diesel locomotive:

I hope they voted to keep it painted as well. Score one for the preservationists, eh?

Now we should start an effort to orchestrate getting the engine scaled and painted...

(Incidentally, Carbonear is a fairly straight shot up 75 and then 70 from the Trans-Canada Highway west out of St. John...)
