The question frequently comes up why some parts lists for particular locomotives seem to be missing from EMD Parts Catalog #90 (Parts other than the diesel engine, for locomotives built with 567 engines). Catalog #90 is a later-years condensed document showing the most frequently ordered parts for these locomotives. Some items, including electrical cabinet components for some types of locomotives, are not shown. It you have a complete original (single locomotive type) parts book for your equipment you are generally much better off keeping and using it. This is particularly true if the locomotive is an FL9, SW1, or NW2. EMD Catalog #30 covering the switchers, for example, has much better coverage of systems and switchgear than Catalog #90. PC |
