With the reorganization of the FRA we received a notice that all forms go to a certain address. Tried that and the forms were seemingly lost, somewhere, even though a signed receipt was sent back. FRA, as a lot of Government agencies, are working remotely and of course this causes a lot of correspondence problems however, where are everyone sending their form 5?

Contact your local FRA MP&E steam inspector for guidance and getting your Form 5 submitted. PM me if you are unsure of who that person is.

I've been sending mine electronically to Sacramento via email for years. It's a lot easier than a certified mail envelope.

Our local inspector, per Technical Bulletin MP&E 21-01, Submission of Forms and Notifications for Steam Locomotives, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 230 directed us to send it to:

Staff Director, Motive Power and Equipment Division
Federal Railroad Administration
1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Mail Stop-25
Washington, DC 20590

as the position of regional administrator has been abolished
