Located approximately 25 miles (40 Km) west of Rio de Janeiro, three meter‐gauge steam locomotives operate 2½ miles (4 km) at a dairy farm owned by Marcio Manela. The following serviceable steam locomotives have been advertised for sale via a YouTube video:

• E.F. Fazendo Malto Alto 3, 2-4-0 (BLW 53202 / 1920), meter gauge, wood-burner, ex-Usina Barcelos 3

• E.F. Fazendo Malto Alto 89, 0-4-0 (? ? / 1915), largely home‐built, meter gauge, wood-burner

E.F. Fazendo Malto Alto 89, is believed to have been built‐up from running gear components which were found in a Utica, New York scrap yard. A new boiler, new cylinder castings and new valve gear were fashioned by Fazenda Mato
Alto.

In Brazil, steam locomotives are often referenced as, "Maria Fumaça" (English: "Smoking Mary").
