When I was a kid, Freeport, PA had an awesome public park. Lots of cool stuff to play on, including tanks and jet planes, as well as the famed rocket ship and spinning wheel of death playground toy. Of course in those days, nobody cared, and kids climbed all over everything and when you fell, you dusted yourself off, went back to playing and didn't sue anyone. They also had two cabooses on display. One was in the playground area of the park, and the other was over by the pool area. I think the pool one was a party room, but the one in the park was an empty shell kids could play in and on. Spent lots of time on that one of course. I don't know any heritage of them except they were wood, PRR and had the sloped cupolas. I recently found some footage showing the caboose. You can view it here, starting at about 4:10. Does anyone have a clue what happened to these cabooses? Pretty sure it didn't end well, but I'm curious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFK9oyKyTY0 |

Also note the handy ladder they installed to the top of the cupola so that kids could climb all the way to the very top. It was awesome! Picturing today's parents having a heart attack when they see that. |

Or went to the hospital with brain damage. But those people don't really remember the experience, so of course it seemed like "better times". |

Off topic: Ah, but that’s how you learned you limitations the old fashioned way. On topic: No clue where they went. The one looks like an N6. |
