Post subject: L&N Roundhouse, Lebanon Junction, Kentucky

In this photo, we see Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, where the L&N's Lebanon branch met the Louisville-Nashville main line. Once upon a time, the branch met with the L&N's Cincinnati-Knoxville main line near Corbin Kentucky. Hoever, the branch is now just 22 miles long, with the Kentucky Railway Museum owning 17 of that. The roundhouse is where you see the black color on the groun, near the botton of what was the wye. I don't know when the round house here was torn down, but it dated to the Civi War. I have seen an aireal shot taken in the 1930s, where the foundations and pits are visible. Oh yeah, the shawdow you see over the main line near where the roundhouse was, is the remains of the Coaling tower.
