I didn't know they were still in business, back in the day they made logging equipment and even a few locomotives . I see the last item listed is old wooden patterns. I wonder any of the locomotive ones survived? Anyway lots of machine tools that could be used restoring RR equipment . http://www.gerlachauctions.com/auction- ... e-shop.php |

You mean, "in business" until now. I remember reading an article about their locomotives in Model Railroader, i think from the 1970s. They had oscillating cylinders. |

Digging around a while back, I came across a few photos of Filer & Stowell locomotives, and a some illustrations from Model Railroader showing, among other things, the oscillating cylinder arrangement. Hope that it comes through. |

A rather odd looking 4-4-0, again, just a crude and basic machine

And a partial illustration showing the operation of the oscillating cylinder.

There was an extensive series of construction articles in the old Live Steam magazine. I nearly bought one of the completed engines, still kicking myself for not picking it up.
