A California benefactor has purchased Sierra 34 and donated it to the CSRM foundation, which will transfer ownership to Railtown. How's that for good news? |

with all the bad news out there lately, rail preservation and world preservation, this is GREAT news. Now what about the other Sierra steamer in Fred's collection? I don't think it has a tender yet though. |

There’s three. One, #18, is the one that has no tender. The other 2-8-2, #36, and then there’s the Mallet, #38 which is headed to Garibaldi. |

Ah, I'd forgotten that the 38 had some Sierra time too. I helped Fred build the tracks it was stored on in McCloud. What a worn out engine! The drivers were almost double flanged! Didn't realize he had the 36 too. |
