This link shows the B&M roundhouse at the Westboro engine terminal in West Lebanon, NH. Located on the CT river, it served the B&M at White River JCt. VT which is right across the river.

The building below the roundhouse is the rr YMCA. The area is now owned by the state. The Claremont & Concord shortline is providing service with an Alco switcher from WRJ over the river to this area.

Post subject:  Turntable gone

Although this photo shows a turntable still in place, it was removed several years ago. For a time, the local RR group (same one working on 4-4-0 494) was making plans to save the roundhouse, which has seen lots of hard use as a salt shed. They met with a Guilford official, who was relatively pleasant and promised to work with them. Within two weeks, a scrapper arrived and cut up the table, which was a long one, perhaps 110 or even 120 feet. Last time I saw it, the roundhouse had deteriorated so badly it wasn't even being used for salt storage any more. At that time, it did still contain a very old air compressor and most of a hot blast heating system.

When I first saw this building in 1968, it was in good shape and housed Alco and EMD switchers, with a GP7 or two. I think it was once a few stalls larger, those having been removed after dieselization. According to a B&M magazine I have, the last steamer here was an 0-8-0, in 1954.
