The Southeastern Railway Museum, Duluth, Georgia, will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Nov. 27 and April 1.<p>The museum will not be open on Christmas or New Year's Day.<p>Weather permitting, the caboose train will run between buildings one and three behind GE 44-ton Hartwell 2, GE 44-ton Hartwell 5 (NYO&W 104), Porter 0-6-0 Ga. Power 97, or EMD SW7 Southern Ry 8202.<p>Georgia Power #97, which returned to service on November 20 and 21, will next run on December 11. <p>The 1911 Pullman private car "Superb" re-opened to the public on November 20. The car is on display in building one.<p>The museum's grand opening on its new site is scheduled for April 8, 2000, to coincide with its 30th year of operation.<p>Hope to see you there.<p>--Malcolm<p> Southeastern Railway Museum collections@srmduluth.org |
