I am looking for information as to history of this locomotive. It was in Saginaw MI with the Bluewater Chapter when this photo was taken, so I am looking for info prior to 2008. The current owner doesn't have any info. Thanks for any help you folks can provide!

I took a stroll through the Brookville list and didn't find anything likely under 117, Blue Water or Saginaw. Need more to work with.

Send the photo with your request for information to Brookville. I have found them to be very open and helpful.

I have reached out to them. Unfortunately, the only identifier they have is the builder's badge plate in the cab, which is missing.

The locomotive was previously painted white, as that is the color coming out from under the peeling black paint.

Another source is Jay Reed, who had a book named "Comprehensive Guide to Industrial Locomotives". Email him at jayreed@sonic.net.

I found a listing showing this loco as Brookville #4320. If that is the case this is the history:

I was hoping someone who was with the Bluewater Chapter would chime in with some info, which is why I posted here.

I have provided this info to Brookville to see what they come up with.

I enjoy this forum for the information that is impossible to find anywhere else.

However it befuddles me to see Historical Information on an old locomotive when the historical information is when I was in college. (1971 ~ 1972 ) . Not even high school yet.

Went to the new Brookville company web site. Had no idea they currently build such large industrial loco's. One never hears about them. Nor the fact they rebuild other older equipment. Spent a considerable amount of time going over the websites reading what all.

Excellent information! That explains the transmission difference between the original and what is there now. Hard to believe that Brookville may have taken a sportscar console shifter and mounted it to a box in the cab...Brookville's info says it was built with an International-Harvester engine.

The current owners moved it to Toledo Lake Erie & Western for storage and use.
