Former USA 1034 (later USA M-22) a 10 ton 1953 Plymouth DDT locomotive found its way to its new home on the 9th of April. Acquired from North American Railway Services in Shreveport, the M-22 will be used in maintenance of way service at the museum as well as allowing the museum to actually recover equipment abandoned in the woods since the railroad last ran in the 1950's

In the matter of a single day, the locomotive was unloaded, and the museum crew of David Hearne, Cody Akin and Casey Akin had the engine running and operating and had a chance to give a little training to the volunteers who were present for the work sessions that day.

In the attached photo, our intrepid movers, Cody and Casey Akin pose next to the locomotive after unloading it from their tilt bed trailer. For more info see the video link below:

Surely is! Had to go inside the ammunition lockers! I think that we will enlarge the cab, but the rest of it is just what we need!

On our 8 ton DL, the cab floor is below the top of the frame so you can stand up straight. Just don’t get excited and jump up & down….

Great post. Like seeing all ages working together. Mid Continent was like this when I was a kid. People pulled together, kids learned stuff and a good time was had by all. Best regards, John.
