Schedule originally called for end of this month, WARN Act notification not as specific. No guesses as to what this might mean for Captina Branch. There’s not much sand traffic right now and nothing else left as far as business. While the line has its own history, it also has a several-mile stretch either beside or on the old Ohio River and Western narrow gauge and it mined the last of Colonel Sullivan’s coal lands. Century long walls and has worked out most of its coal. Those who want mining equipment might want to get in touch with American Energy Corporation in Beallsville, OH. Like most of our area, its coal is bituminous and it might—I emphasize MIGHT—be possible to get a small amount of coal custom-cracked as they finish up. |
