Post subject:  Winder, Georgia: "Train Day" Planned for June 11, 2022

Downtown Winder, Georgia, adjacent to the former Seaboard Air Line Railway depot at 6 Porter Street, Gainesville Midland 208 and SCL 01081 (caboose) are on static display. On Saturday, June 11, 2022, "Train Day" will be staged in Winder. Railroad memorabilia will be displayed and retired conductor Jim Baughman will be on hand to share railroad memories.

As an aside, Rohr Industries once had an assembly plant in Winder, where the subway cars for Washington DC and Atlanta were built.
