Post subject:  Southern Pacific 18: The Great Western Steam-up

During the past few days, Southern Pacific 18 was moved from Independence, California to Carson City, Nevada in preparation of its participation in "The Great Western Steam-up," scheduled for July 1 - 4, 2022 at Nevada State Railroad Museum, Carson City.

Who pays for these highway moves of the 18? Anyone know? They are not inexpensive, though I think they use a roll-on/roll-off low-boy trailer set-up.

In this instance the NSRM paid for 18s transportation to the event. Yes 18 was loaded onto a low boy trailer.

SP caboose 401 from the Laws museum also made the trip to Carson City. Now 18 has a proper car to haul around the museum.
