Reporting marks ACWR are for Aberdeen, Carolina & Western in Star, NC--another "passenger car collector posing as a shortline/regional railroad".......... |

If I recall right, Coffee Creek was not owned by Iowa Pacific, but was either stored there or had some sort of lease.... It's probably just moving to a new storage site, it's pretty common to "borrow" reporting marks for such moves.... |

It's probably just moving to a new storage site, it's pretty common to "borrow" reporting marks for such moves...." Evidently, I-P had clear title to it as it was on the list of cars for sale at auction. There were a number of high-end bidders but in the end the AC&W was the winner. As far as I know, I-P never did any work on the car over the years it was in their car shop at Alamosa. |
