The auction is ongoing at this moment. It was supposed to be installed for the W&W but the deal fell through.

Current bid is $500. Description says built by American Bridge Co., but photo has a London & North Eastern stem engine on it.

I'm sure they used a stock photo they found somewhere.

Looks like Kings Cross station turntable in London.....
You could recreate that image by posing the A1 Trusts new build 2-8-2 "Prince of Wales" on it though!

How is this TT being sold at a "government liquidation" site?

Who actually owned it, and what "deal" fell through?

The turntable is located in Yorklyn, DE and is being offered by the State of Delaware.

How did Delaware end up with what was supposed to be the W&W's--"abandoned property" statutes?

The description says it's an 80-footer: "Railroad Turntable is 80 foot standard continuous deck. Manufactured by American Bridge Company in 1910. The turntable consists of riveted built up steel plates and angles."

Showing the LNER turntable is equivalent to auctioning an ex-Delaware police car and showing a photo of the Bluesmobile.

I've been informed back-channel that, contrary to what some people (and I) might have thought, the turntable was not acquired by the W&W/Historic Red Clay Valley, but by the State of Delaware for the proposed turntable installation at Yorklyn.

I'm not going to pretend to know all the convolutions involved here.

Older RYPN post for 2018
art of that redevelopment of the former NVF site includes a new station (I wonder if theyll move the old Greenbank, nee Kennedyville Station down from Hockessin "East", since it rarely sees use there?) and installation of the aforementioned turntable that is already sitting at Yorklyn on a flat car. It was purchased from IRM for scrap value.

old information from 2016
The existing turntable at the Illinois Railway Museum is an 80 foot long one it obtained in 1981 from the Chicago & Northwestern at Harvard, IL
