A quick search turned up this previous thread, which includes the following comment from Ron Larson, about half way down the page: Quote: In addition to using a good oil, one of the best things you can do to make your air pump last is to use a good air filter. WIX makes a good one for trucks that fits in the standard housing, you just have to enlarge the hole with a hammer and a large drift punch. Santa Fe and others used oil bath air cleaners specifically Vortox. Vortox is still in business and still makes the type used by Santa fe in the 30s and 40s. |

Dry filters like that and paper can be washed and reused. |
