Found this on ABPR: Bellvue, Ohio roadway equipment shop of Norfolk Southern. Ex-NKP roundhouse, once home to Berkshires. Photo dated 6/02, looks like it is still in use by RR.

Bob,

I worked in Bellevue in 1983, and the roundhouse had just been replaced by a new diesel shop located towards the opposite end of the yards at that time. I even had the opportunity to turn NKP 765 on the turntable at the roundhouse at least once. There was still a nice screw-type drop table in the roundhouse that I believe was later donated to the FWRHS, along with some spare parts. This drop table was evidently much more reliable than the new-fangled hydraulic table we had in the new diesel shop, which gave us a lot of trouble.

I heard that the roadway people mainly overhauled motorcars in the roundhouse when they took it over.

Good Steaming,
Hugh Odom
