RBMN bought the entire last page of the A-section of the Thurs 9-1-2022 Phila Inquirer. You don't even have to go to the inner pages; it jumps out at you when you unfold the paper.

The ad prominently features F7 270 and T-1 2102.

Trips are all from RBMN's Reading Outer Station and Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe.

2102 will operate 10-1, 10-8 and 10-29;
F-units 270 + 275 10-2, 10-9, 10-15, 10-16, 10-22, 10-23 and 10-30;
425 on 11-5 and 11-6.

What is a newspaper?

I rode the 2102 July 2nd. Reading-Jim Thorpe trip and the Aug. 13th. 2102/425 doubleheader trip Reading-Jim Thorpe and both were VERY well run and well worth the ticket price.

If you love steam these trips are as close as you can get in today's reality to the " full monty" and I highly recommend them.

Thanks again to Andy Muller and his team for all they do to keep the steam flame burning brightly.

The Inquirer Building was on the Reading's City Branch and brought a lot of inbound newsprint paper traffic. Paper is heavy and carried a high rate in the old tariffs, meaning lotsa $$$ for the R. Co.

Hopefully, along with the print version, the big bucks they paid for that also gets them a prominent ad in the digital version of the paper.

RBMN has bought full page ads in regional newspapers two or three times seasonally for s couple years. This may have been their first time in the Inky, however.

I just got off today’s excursion with 2102. Let me tell you, it met and exceeded my expectations. Open window coach while the T-1 tackled the grades anchored down with 18 cars, mostly heavyweights. It’s been a while since I’ve witnessed an engine working that hard mile after mile. The sound alone was putting a smile on many faces. I’m sure a few new railfans were made today. Absolutely incredible.

I too have ridden two of this years 2102 excursions and as I have posted this is as close as you can come in today's reality to experiencing the " full monty" ( no diesel(s) in the consist, full tonnage train, open window coaches, track speed of 60mph mininmum, real runbys and run on time) and I HIGHLY recommend them.

It is what somebody my age uses to while away a winter Sunday afternoon siting in front of the fireplace. Last week's is used to start the fire. They are also very good for starting the wood fire which is used to start the coal fire in the cabin car stove - after you have checked the dog races and the daily number.
