I’ve been following this lady on Instagram for a couple of months; she typically posts videos of herself hand lettering hot rods. It’s fascinating to watch. This morning she posted a video showing her lettering Strasburg passenger car 59: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ck08zq-P ... MyMTA2M2Y= Follow her at “hotrodjen” on Instagram. |

Is there any version not specific to Instagram? I'm not signed up with them and I can't load the file as linked. |

Hugh - Interesting video. The lady has a steady hand! And does really nice work. One thing I found extremely interesting was using something called "Electro Pounce" to aid in the transfer of the pounce pattern for the lettering. Never even heard of that before. Les |

Les She used the electric pen to burn holes in the paper and then used a standard pounce bag to outline the letters. Took me a minute to figure that one out too. I was wondering where I could order electric pounce paper. https://mclogan.com/electro-pounce-machine.html |

Jen does beautiful work! She applied the paint and gold leaf to our new ceiling panels on our 1909 Kuhlman built interurban car from the Aurora Elgin & Chicago which we are restoring back to its original 1909 condition. This car is at the Rockhill Trolley Museum in Rockhill Furnace, PA So happy that she is finding some additional railroad work I would post pictures, but for some reason I am not able to Joel |

I am always impressed at how sign painters can get those long, precise and smooth strokes. I would inevitably sneeze, cough, hiccup, wiggle, whatever. I find it fascinating to watch. Nice work. |

This thread reminded me of the respect I had for the late Bob Lorenz who hand painted ( freehand) the Great Seal of the United States on both sides of the tender on the AFT 1 locomotive ( ex.-RGD. 2101 ) during its overhaul in Birmingham, Al. in 1975. With the assistance of his trusted assistant ( and wife) Bea, he labored about 10 days on each side painting that intricate and beautiful piece to life for tens of thousands to enjoy as the engine powered the American Freedom Train throughout the Northeastern USA. Incredible skill. Thanks for the memories. Ross Rowland |

That is beautiful. I'm amazed with how easy she makes pinstriping look. Now that I'm old and have essential tremors, I'd hate to see the mess I would make. And she's a lefty also, a very talented one. |
