Kelly Anderson wrote: That is a Lancashire boiler. Interesting to see one outside of Great Britain. Some photos are on Google Thanks! I'm trying to add photos of this second vessel, but I keep getting the message "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." What's that all about? At any rate, I also have photos here: http://750mm.pl/index.php?topic=2425.msg86171#msg86171 As you'll see, it has some baffles inside. I used a tree limb as a dipstick to try and figure out how deep it is. The water line is where the stub of a branch is. |

From the looks of the interior shot... I'd say they were used as cisterns. No trace of petroleum residue. |

Scroll through the photos of the Steamboat Arabia Museum and you will see the 3 Lancashire Boilers. https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJ ... VDMWZMX2dH |

Here's the other vessel I found. As you can see, it has some internal baffle structure. I used a tree limb to see how deep it runs, and you can see the water line (where the stub of a branch is).

Any thoughts on what this second vessel might be? |
