The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, WA, has acquired the last remaining car, bistro (cafe-lunch counter) #7304, from the older Talgo "Series 6" articulated trainsets from the Amtrak Cascades regional service. The four surviving Series 6 sets had been retired in the aftermath of the derailment at DuPont (Nisqually Junction), WA, in December 2017, which destroyed one of the five sets and resulted in 3 fatalities. https://railfan.com/northwest-railway-museum-acquires-last-cascades-talgo-series-vi-car/ https://railfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Bistro800.jpg |

I remember riding Talgo from Seattle to Vancouver on jointed rail. The single axle articulated ride was strange. They rode well elsewhere on welded rail. I'm glad somebody is preserving an example. Phil Mulligan |

Amtrak was so motivated to scrap these after the 501 wreck at Dupont, WA, I bet they're not happy that even this car will be preserved. |
